DGPS Survey — Bahrain & Saudi Arabia

DGPS Survey Services in Bahrain & Saudi Arabia

RIIM's DGPS (Differential GPS) survey service provides centimetre-accuracy positioning for utility georeferencing, topographic surveys, and infrastructure positioning across Bahrain and Saudi Arabia — using RTK GPS with network correction for the highest available accuracy.

What RIIM Delivers in Manama

Accurate georeferencing is what transforms a utility detection survey into a usable engineering dataset. RIIM's DGPS service provides the precise GPS coordinates that anchor utility survey data to the national coordinate system — ensuring that detected utilities can be located on the ground, integrated with design drawings, and loaded into GIS asset management systems. Our RTK GPS systems achieve centimetre accuracy across Bahrain and Saudi Arabia using network correction services.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is DGPS and how does it differ from standard GPS?

DGPS (Differential GPS) uses a reference station with a known position to correct GPS errors in real time, achieving centimetre accuracy compared to the 3 to 5 metre accuracy of standard GPS. RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) DGPS is the most accurate form, using a network of reference stations to provide corrections across a wide area. RIIM uses RTK DGPS for all survey georeferencing work.

What accuracy does RIIM achieve with DGPS surveys in Bahrain?

RIIM's RTK DGPS surveys achieve horizontal accuracy of 10 to 20mm and vertical accuracy of 15 to 30mm using network correction. This accuracy is sufficient for engineering-grade utility georeferencing, topographic surveys, and infrastructure positioning. All accuracy statements are validated against independent check points.

Can RIIM deliver DGPS surveys in Saudi Arabia's coordinate system?

Yes. RIIM delivers DGPS survey data in the Saudi Arabia National Grid (SANG) coordinate system as well as WGS84, UTM Zone 38N and 39N, and other coordinate systems specified by the client. Coordinate transformation is performed using certified transformation parameters.

Is DGPS survey required for PAS-128 utility surveys?

Yes. PAS-128 Quality Level B requires that all detected utilities are georeferenced to a known coordinate system with documented positional accuracy. RIIM uses DGPS to georeference all utility detections, ensuring that the positional accuracy of the survey meets PAS-128 requirements and is documented in the survey report.
