Drone Survey (UAV Mapping)

High-resolution aerial mapping for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Overview

RIIM's UAV survey division delivers centimetre-accuracy aerial mapping, photogrammetry, and LiDAR surveys for infrastructure, construction, and environmental projects. Our drone surveys capture detailed topographic data rapidly and safely — covering large areas in a fraction of the time required by traditional ground survey methods.

How It Works

Our licensed UAV operators fly pre-planned missions using fixed-wing and multi-rotor platforms equipped with RGB cameras, multispectral sensors, and LiDAR scanners. Ground control points (GCPs) are established using GNSS to achieve survey-grade accuracy. Imagery and point cloud data are processed using photogrammetry software to produce orthomosaics, DSMs, DTMs, and 3D models.

Applications

  • Topographic survey and digital terrain modelling
  • Construction progress monitoring and volumetrics
  • Corridor mapping for pipelines, roads, and power lines
  • Stockpile volume calculation
  • Coastal and environmental change monitoring
  • Infrastructure inspection and condition assessment

Deliverables

  • High-resolution orthomosaic imagery
  • Digital Surface Model (DSM) and Digital Terrain Model (DTM)
  • Dense point cloud (LAS / LAZ format)
  • 3D mesh models and textured surfaces
  • Contour plans and volumetric reports
