Marine Geophysics

Subsurface intelligence beneath the waterline.

Overview

RIIM's marine geophysics division delivers high-resolution seabed and sub-bottom surveys for offshore infrastructure projects across the Arabian Gulf. From pipeline route surveys to port development and cable laying, our vessel-mounted systems provide the subsurface data your offshore project demands.

How It Works

Marine surveys are conducted from survey vessels equipped with hull-mounted or towed transducers. Bathymetry and Sub-bottom profilers transmit acoustic pulses that penetrate the seabed and reflect from buried layers and objects. Side-scan sonar produces high-resolution seabed imagery. Magnetometers detect ferrous pipelines and cables. All data streams are integrated and processed to produce comprehensive seabed and sub-bottom maps.

Applications

  • Offshore pipeline and cable route surveys
  • Port and harbour development site investigations
  • Seabed obstruction and wreck detection
  • Dredging volume and pre/post-dredge surveys
  • Subsea utility detection and mapping
  • Environmental baseline seabed surveys

Deliverables

  • Bathymetric charts and digital elevation models
  • Sub-bottom profile sections and interpretations
  • Side-scan sonar mosaics and seabed classification
  • Magnetic anomaly maps
  • Integrated marine geophysics reports
