Drone & UAV Survey — Bahrain & Saudi Arabia

Drone & UAV Survey Services in Bahrain & Saudi Arabia

RIIM delivers centimetre-accuracy drone and UAV surveys across Bahrain and Saudi Arabia — aerial photogrammetry, LiDAR mapping, and topographic surveys that capture large areas rapidly and safely for infrastructure, construction, and engineering projects.

What RIIM Delivers in Manama

Drone surveys have transformed large-area topographic data capture — what once required weeks of ground survey can now be completed in hours with centimetre accuracy. RIIM's UAV survey teams operate GCAA-compliant (Bahrain) and GACA-compliant (Saudi Arabia) drone systems, delivering orthomosaic maps, digital surface models, and LiDAR point clouds that integrate directly into engineering design workflows. Our drone surveys are particularly valuable for NEOM and large KSA infrastructure programmes where rapid, accurate topographic data is essential.

Frequently Asked Questions

What accuracy does RIIM achieve with drone surveys in Bahrain?

RIIM's RTK-enabled drone systems achieve horizontal accuracy of 2 to 3 cm and vertical accuracy of 3 to 5 cm without ground control points. With ground control points (GCPs), accuracy improves to 1 to 2 cm horizontal and 2 to 3 cm vertical. All accuracy statements are validated against independent check points and documented in the survey report.

Is RIIM licensed to fly drones in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia?

Yes. RIIM operates in compliance with Bahrain's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) drone regulations and Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) requirements. Our pilots hold the necessary licences and our operations include pre-flight airspace authorisation and risk assessment for each survey.

What deliverables does a drone survey produce?

A RIIM drone survey produces an orthomosaic map (georeferenced aerial photograph), a Digital Surface Model (DSM), a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), and a point cloud in LAS format for LiDAR surveys. All deliverables are georeferenced in the client's specified coordinate system and delivered in standard GIS and CAD formats.

Can RIIM combine drone surveys with ground-based utility surveys?

Yes. RIIM regularly combines drone topographic surveys with ground-based GPR and EPL utility surveys to produce integrated above-ground and below-ground datasets. The combined dataset gives engineers a complete picture of the site — surface topography, existing structures, and buried utilities — in a single georeferenced deliverable.
